Ingredients

Pork chops
  • 4 boneless pork chops 1 inch thick
  • 1 Salt and pepper to taste
Pan sear
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 4 garlic, minced cloves
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes
Garnish
  • 1 sesame seeds for garnish
  • 1 green onions for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 cast iron skillet

Method

Season and sear the pork
  1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then cook the pork chops 4–5 minutes per side until golden; set them aside.
Make the honey garlic glaze
  1. Mix the honey, garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Pour the honey garlic sauce into the same pan over medium heat and simmer 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Return the pork chops to the pan and cook 2–3 minutes, spooning the sauce over constantly, until glazed and the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
Finish and serve
  1. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve immediately.

Notes

For the glossiest glaze, keep the sauce at a steady medium heat and continuously spoon it over the pork during the final 2–3 minutes. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 3 days; reheat gently in a skillet over low heat to avoid drying out. Freezing is not recommended due to texture changes. Dietary swap: use tamari instead of soy sauce if you need gluten-free.
