Method
Preheat and assemble
- Preheat the oven to 350F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters and scatter the pieces in the prepared dish.
Make the pumpkin custard
- Whisk eggs, pumpkin puree, heavy cream, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the pumpkin custard evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces.
Bake and finish
- Let the bake soak for 5 minutes before placing it in the oven.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350F until puffed and golden, with the custard set around the edges.
- Mix both cream cheese frosting packets with the maple syrup and drizzle over the warm bake.
Notes
For clean slices, rest the bake 5 minutes after drizzling so the custard firms up. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat individual portions in the microwave. Freezing is not recommended because the custard texture can change after thawing. Dietary swap: use lactose-free cream and lactose-free cream cheese frosting packets if needed for dairy sensitivity.
